Prime Video has announced the movie and TV titles coming to the service in September. The Prime Video September 2022 lineup includes new Amazon Original Movies, Series, and Specials.

Below, you’ll also find the titles coming to Amazon Freevee, the free streaming service previously known as IMDb TV.

The Prime Video September 2022 slate includes The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which tells the story of Middle-earth’s Second Age and is set thousands of years before the events of Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books.

Beginning in a time of relative peace and in a Golden Age of Middle-earth, the series chronicles the forging of the iconic Rings of Power, the rise of the evil dark Lord Sauron, the rise and fall of the Island Kingdom of Numenor, and the climactic battle of the Last Alliance of Elves and Men.

Prime Video connects sports fans even closer to the players and the games they love, premiering exclusive coverage of Thursday Night Football, starting with a powerhouse AFC West matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers on September 15.

The Prime Video September 2022 schedule also features Goodnight Mommy, in which twin brothers discover something different about their now bandaged-up mother, played by Naomi Watts. More scares await with My Best Friend’s Exorcism when an evening of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong for two best friends.

In the Italian coming-of-age drama series Prisma, twins Marco and Andrea go on a joyful and unruly journey of individual self-discovery. Flight / Risk documents two Boeing 737 Max plane crash tragedies through the perspective of affected family members, their legal teams, whistleblowers, and Pulitzer-winning Seattle Times journalist Dominic Gates.

Also coming is Jungle, which follows the connected lives of several strangers, each facing their own struggle, viewed through the prism of U.K. rap and drill music.

Hispanic Heritage Month brings you powerful storytelling with curated collections, including several Amazon Originals such as Being the Ricardos, Los Tigres del Norte, Noticia de un secuestro, and much more.

New on Amazon Freevee this month are award-winning films such as Sam Mendes’ World War 1 epic 1917, the inspirational and impactful Hidden Figures, and the intense yet beautiful Whiplash.

The Prime Video September 2022 programming includes the following Originals.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER (Streaming September 2) Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

The Rings of Power will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.

Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth.

From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

FLIGHT / RISK (Streaming September 15) Flight / Risk follows everyday people who find themselves in the midst of a global tragedy when two Boeing 737 Max planes crashed only five months apart in 2018 and 2019.

This powerful documentary is told through the perspective of affected family members, their legal teams, whistleblowers, and Pulitzer-winning Seattle Times journalist Dominic Gates.

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (Streaming September 15) This September, Prime Video will become the exclusive home for Thursday Night Football in what is the first year of a historic 11-year agreement with the NFL. The deal makes Prime Video the first streaming service to air a season-long exclusive national broadcast package from the NFL, and includes 15 regular-season games and one preseason game per year.

Prime Video will also deliver new pregame, halftime, and postgame shows as well as fan-favorite interactive features like X-Ray and Next Gen Stats powered by AWS.

GOODNIGHT MOMMY (Streaming September 16) When twin brothers arrive home to find their mother’s demeanor altered and face covered in surgical bandages, they begin to suspect the woman beneath the gauze might not be their mother.

PRISMA (Streaming September 21) Prisma is a coming-of-age drama series centred on the complex relationship among identity, aspirations, physical appearance, and sexual orientations in a group of teenagers from Latina, a small town in the Roman province. The series tells the story of twin brothers Marco and Andrea (played by Mattia Carrano), identical to all appearances, but profoundly different in the turmoil they face.

Their journey of self- discovery will be both joyful and unruly and will involve their whole group of friends, as they are all trying to find their place in an ever-changing world.

SEPTEMBER MORNINGS (Streaming September 23) In Cassandra’s life, everything turned upside down since the arrival of Gersinho, her son. Her life has totally changed and, in this new season, the feeling of being out of control deepens.

A reencounter with her past after ten years, the conflicts in her relationships and the financial challenges that put her achievements at risk push Cassandra to her limits. Now, all of Cassandra’s certainties seem to melt into thin air.

JUNGLE (Streaming September 30) Jungle follows the connected lives of several strangers, each facing their own struggle, viewed through the prism of UK rap and drill music, and giving a perspective on an often unseen world. Frequently misunderstood, it’s a world where one law governs everything: only the strongest will survive.

As the strangers’ worlds begin to unravel around them, they come to the realization that every action, no matter how small, has a consequence.

MY BEST FRIEND’S EXORCISM (Streaming September 30) The year is 1988. High school sophomores Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fourth grade. But after an evening of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen begins to act…different. She’s moody. She’s irritable. And bizarre incidents keep happening whenever she’s nearby.

Abby’s investigation leads her to some startling discoveries—and by the time their story reaches its terrifying conclusion, the fate of Abby and Gretchen will be determined by a single question: Is their friendship powerful enough to beat the devil?

AN UNKNOWN ENEMY (Un Extraño Enemigo) (Streaming September 30) Fernando Barrientos, new Mexican Undersecretary of the Interior (Subsecretario de Gobernación), will have to overcome his family’s tragedy while he fights for his place within the new Cabinet. However, betrayal and the ruthless agenda of President Echeverría will force Barrientos to unofficially part ways from the system and turn himself into a powerful operator from the country’s darkest side of the political and criminal underworld.
