ROCKPORT — On behalf of the Town of Rockport, the Rockport Conservation Commission (RCC) with the support of the Rockport Select Board is in the process of applying to become a member of the Maine Community Resilience Partnership (CRP), a program within the Maine Governor's Office of Policy Innovation and the Future.

The CRP assists municipalities with local assessments of climate vulnerabilities and provides financial and other resources for concrete actions to build community resilience. The RCC invites residents of all ages to the Rockport Opera House June 7, at 6 p.m., to hear about this new partnership and provide their ideas for local climate actions ranging from electrification, reducing the effects of ecosystem change, protecting water resources, decreasing transportation emissions and strengthening infrastructure resilience.

Maine Rep. Vicki Doudera, D-Camden, Swill discuss Maine state climate policies and new legislations and Jon Duke, Rockport Town Manager, will discuss the importance of climate resilience for the Town. All ages are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be provided.
